In 2023, we planted a soybean plot at the elevator in 30 inch rows, using our JD 1790.
The history of the plot area was 6 years of corn. Essentially conventional tillage in the fall of 2022.
We did not add any additional fertility in 2023 for the soybeans.
We thought 30″ rows would work out due to the tendency for soybeans to grow tall and rank after multiple years of corn on our soil, and we were correct.
While there was some water damage, most of the plot survived well after the rains in July.
We were very pleased with the results, an average of 69 bu per acre. The plot results are attached, thank you to Bayer for assisting with the weigh wagon.
